The fourth and final episode of our video series "Les entretiens privilégiés avec Alan Roura" is dedicated to sustainable development which is at the heart of Alan's project.
Hublot is an Imoca boat that is self-sufficient in renewable energy, with a deck entirely covered in solar panels, capable of sailing around the world without using diesel.
Sailors like Alan have a very clear view of climate change and have a front row seat to see it. The Vendée Globe participants are the only sailors who sail so far south on our planet. Every year the limit of sailing goes up as the ice melts. From 60 degrees south, the sailors are now sailing in the 40 degree zone, which makes the circumnavigation much longer.
